Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Child Protection Team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring their safety and well-being in accordance with statutory regulations and best practices.
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Monitoring and reviewing cases to ensure the safety and progress of children.
  • Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive outcomes.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including schools, health services, and law enforcement.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local authority policies.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks.
