Costain are one of five companies that have been awarded contracts under the Surface Transport Infrastructure Construction (STIC) Framework


Transport for London are one of Britain's key City Local Authorities. Responsible for the city's infrastructure which includes Highways, Major Structures, Rail, River Transport and supporting technology.


Many of their assets are reaching their end-of-life status and require substantial remedials or full refurbishment, additionally TfL are keen to embrace modern technology to reduce carbon and energy requirements and deliver a sustainable, clean city.


Costain under a number of Frameworks support TfL in their expansion and sustainability and are one of their major providers. We are currently undertaking a number of feasibility and concept designs to support future developments.


We have recently been awarded A40 Westway, Gallows Corner, Brent Cross Structures Programme and George Green Tunnel schemes and are recruiting for staff.



Support the Quality lead, Senior Quality advisor, Contract Leads, and the wider project teams in their efforts to delivery right first time outputs. Form part of the Integrated Quality Verification Team (IQVT), and assist in the assurance review and sign off process to self-certify the works. Maintain good working relationships with the construction team, the client, and supply chain to generate a collaborative, supportive environment. Provide strong technical quality expertise and direction to the construction team (incl. management, engineers, works managers, supervisors and suppliers) to inform on good practice, help promote right-first-time delivery, drive a positive quality culture of doing the right thing, and help to certify the works. This will include making decisions to stop works if something is not right. Be conversant with all project delivery requirements including drawings, specifications and related information for these works. Maintain relevant knowledge and competency in relation to construction and quality management, and support those wishing to progress their knowledge in these fields. This may include giving training, coaching, or mentorship on best practices. Understand the company quality policy, procedures and statutory requirements, and ensure requirements are followed through the Quality Strategy and Quality Management Plan (QMP) Undertake planned audits of site works, fabrication facilities, pre-cast facilities and other supply chain activities to ensure consistent, fit-for-purpose outputs are being achieved in line with specifications and requirements. This will be coordinated through the Senior Quality Advisor. Review ITPs, RAMS and other Quality related documentation to ensure they are suitable for construction, and have the necessary QA hold-points to delivery Right First Time (RFT) Support the team in MARs, TQ's and NCRs raising, reviews and closeout. Raise Quality observations and hazards to maintain consistently high standards Produce technical reports on Quality delivery for attention of the Quality SLT. This includes producing reports following site inspections and audits. Conduct training/toolbox talks with teams and workforce on Quality related issues to promote quality awareness, lessons learned and best practice. Review and approval of Quality Assurance packages from supply chain and Costain self-delivery works for submission within the project H&S file. To cover your absence from site, you are to engage with the quality management team to ensure full cover for the duration of the works.

Strong technical knowledge of regulations, standards and specifications pertaining to structural and civils works. Must have good specific knowledge around roadworks and bridge construction and a good working knowledge of the MCHW standards. CSCS card Open to weekends and night working as required by the programme of works. Optional: A chartered member of the ICE or CQI.
