Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality and Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage our quality assurance and H&S activities in a fast-paced electrical subcontract manufacturing environment. The primary focus of the role is on quality assurance, with additional responsibilities in supporting health and safety compliance.

Key Quality Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Quality team (4 Inspectors, 1 Engineer) to ensure product and process compliance. Maintain and develop the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Plan, conduct, and document internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001. Support external and supplier audits, ensure audit readiness and effective closeout of findings. Monitor and drive improvements in quality KPIs including customer complaints, internal non-conformances, and supplier non-conformances. Review and approve inspection and test plans, work instructions, and quality documentation. Work with cross-functional teams to implement root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys). Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and product quality.

Key H&S Responsibilities

Maintain and develop the company's ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System. Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits across manufacturing and office environments. Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legal and company standards. Support incident investigations and contribute to corrective/preventive action plans. Deliver or coordinate basic H&S training as required.

Requirements

Essential

Proven experience in a Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment (ideally electrical or electronics-based). In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, with experience in internal auditing. Strong understanding of ISO 45001 and practical experience conducting risk assessments. Experience leading or supporting external supplier or third-party audits. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in using quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, 8D, SPC). Strong documentation and process development skills.

Desirable

Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 / ISO 45001). NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma). Experience with electrical assembly, testing, or sub-contract manufacturing environments.
