The Quality Assistant provides administrative support to the Quality Assurance team, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance tracking, and smooth coordination of quality processes. This role is critical for maintaining aerospace standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001 through effective record-keeping, FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) processing, and NRC management.

Key Responsibilities



Administrative Support



Prepare and maintain quality documentation, reports, and compliance records. Manage filing systems for inspection reports, certifications, and FAIR documentation. Ensure equipment remains within calibration and manage the documentation.

FAIR Process Management



Compile and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Ensure all FAIR documentation is complete, before release. Track FAIR status and maintain records for customer and regulatory compliance.

NRC Management



Log and monitor Non-Conformance Reports (NCR/NRC) in the quality management system. Coordinate corrective actions with the QE, production and engineering teams. Update and close NRC records, ensuring timely resolution and compliance reporting.

Data Entry & Reporting



Input inspection results and non-conformance data into quality management systems. Generate weekly and monthly quality performance summaries for management review. Track corrective actions and update status reports.

Communication & Coordination



Liaise with production teams, suppliers, and auditors to ensure timely information flow. Assist in distributing updated procedures and quality alerts across departments. Support onboarding of new staff with quality-related documentation and training materials.

Compliance & Documentation Control



Ensure all documents are version controlled. Prepare audit-ready files for external and internal quality assessments.

Requirements



Previous experience in an administrative or quality support role (aerospace preferred). Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or QMS software is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Right to work in the UK. BPSS clear.
