Severn and Wye Smokery Ltd is an award-winning artisan and family-run business situated on the picturesque banks of the River Severn. We produce and supply world renowned smoked and fresh products to various high-class establishments, such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, and The Ritz.

We're currently looking for a

motivated, hands-on QA Assistant

to join our high-performing Quality Team. You'll be the eyes and ears on the floor, ensuring every product meets the highest safety and quality standards before it reaches our customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

Keeping our products safe -- from

hygiene audits and allergen checks

to

ATP swabs and environmental inspections

Supporting daily product evaluations with

micro testing, titration

, and

organoleptic assessments

Taking swift action on quality issues -- investigating

OOS reports

and driving corrective actions Ensuring

clean-downs, CCP checks

, and foreign body controls are visually verified and documented Playing a key part in

label checks, traceability

, and verifying

Goods In/Goods Out

standards Reviewing

temperature logs

, calibrating equipment, and helping maintain our site's food-safe environment Working with our QA and technical team on

audits, investigations, and product launches

Helping protect our supply chain -- from

raw materials

to

finished goods

, and everything in between Bringing rigour and accuracy to every record, report, and compliance check you complete

What You'll Bring:

Experience in a

QA or food safety

role (ideally in food manufacturing) Solid understanding of

GMP, HACCP, CCP

, and traceability standards A sharp eye for detail and confidence in making decisions Strong communication skills -- written and verbal A proactive mindset -- someone who sees what needs doing and does it A passion for doing things right, and pride in producing food that's safe and high quality
