The Role
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Quality Assurance Lead
to join our skincare and beauty tech business. Working closely with the Operations Director and the wider Production team, you'll take ownership of quality processes across our production environment ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our manufacturing operations, where you'll champion good manufacturing practices, maintain ISO standards, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of production.
In-Production Testing:
Perform regular quality control checks /audits during production to ensure products meet the required standards of quality, safety, and legality.
Standards Compliance:
Ensure production processes and operations are compliant with ISO 22716 (GMP) and ISO 9001 requirements.
Maintain the Standard:
Manage the QMS (Quality Management System) throughout, carrying out regular audits in line with the requirement.
Equipment Calibration Management:
Ensure all calibrated equipment is managed, identified, and tested according to the appropriate schedule. Arrange for external calibration services when and if necessary.
Goods Inward Inspection:
Carry out good's inwards inspection, of components and raw materials ensuring that checks are conducted according to set methods and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and detailed records for goods inwards inspections, ensuring traceability and compliance with the site Quality Management System (QMS).
Non-Conformance Management:
Identify and quarantine non-conforming products and assist in implementing corrective actions to resolve any quality issues and liaise with external suppliers when required.
Performance Reporting:
Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other statistics as appropriate to the Operations Director and senior leadership team.
Inspection and Testing:
Carry out inspections and testing to support problem investigations and business improvement projects as required.
Process Audits:
Conduct internal audits of production processes to ensure adherence to company policies, GMP, and hygiene protocols.
Training Support:
Assist in training production staff on GMP, hygiene, and quality control procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in and support initiatives aimed at improving product quality and production efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in a QA role within a Manufacturing/Production environment
GMP exposure within beauty or skincare is highly desirable (or a relevant alternative i.e. food manufacturing)
Excellent understanding of quality control, in-production testing, and non-conformance management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Confidence in conducting internal audits, inspections, and performance reporting.
High attention to detail with excellent record-keeping and documentation skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Experience with MS Office / Google Workspace, QMS/QA software
Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative without hand-holding
Professional, discreet, and trustworthy with sensitive information
