Quality Assurance Lead - Nursery & Forest School

Our Nursery and Forest School draws heavily upon Scandinavian influences in its philosophy and everyday practice, valuing the role nature can have in promoting learning, development and well-being.

Our Nursery is purpose built and possesses a large outdoor learning area. Younger children attending our nursery spend a considerable amount of their time learning outside. Older children are transported to our completely private and secure Forest School where they enjoy playing and learning all day in nature.

We are looking for an experienced Early Years Practitioner/Professional who is passionate about early childhood education and high-quality practice to join our Nursery and Forest School team as Quality Assurance Lead. This is a vital role focused on driving outstanding practice across both our Nursery and Forest School sites.

The role:

As Quality Assurance Lead, you will work closely with the leadership team to uphold the highest standards across all aspects of practice, ensuring we are compliant with all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the Ofsted Inspection Framework.

You will:

Review, update and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice. Conduct regular audits and quality checks on observations, learning journeys, and planning. Develop the curriculum across all age groups, working closely with each team and the Manager. Monitor and support staff knowledge, training, and professional development. Ensure continuous improvement through mentoring, and reflective supervision. Maintain a focus on safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice. Foster a strong ethos of child-centred learning and support the team to develop their knowledge. Prepare the setting for Ofsted inspections and support ongoing self-evaluation.
Qualifications and experience

A degree level qualification is desirable however, we would be willing to consider Level 3 practitioners with a considerable amount of experience. Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements is essential. Proven experience in policy development, compliance monitoring, and staff support is desirable. Excellent understanding of child development, effective observation, and assessment techniques. Highly organised, reflective, and proactive in identifying and solving challenges. Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
This job is for 40 hours per week, working Monday-Friday. The salary is 35,360 per year.
