Job Description

Position: Quality Assurance Manager
Reporting to the Lead Quality Manager

Do you have an ISO/Quality Assurance/Health and Safety background within the manufacturing field? Can you demonstrate a high level of a professional, pro-active and interpersonal skills set? Are you highly organised and structured in your approach to working, paying attention to detail and having excellent communication skills? The goals of this role are to embed a culture of excellent quality products to our customers while being fully compliant and instilling excellence within manufacturing and processes .

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

ISO and Quality reporting:



Manage the full documentation of the ISO9001 for Fortress Technology Europe. To facilitate the ISO audits and assessments and co ordinate to all relevant bodies required for meetings. Ensure that as a business we are adhering to our policies and reviewing on a regular basis. To work with other managers where change of further development is required and report to the Operations Director. To ensure all information is stored in a register so relevant managers can adhere to processes. Ensure that all processes are being adhered to and recorded correctly. Ensure that Design quality standards, procedures and specification are adhered to. Lead bi-annual management review meetings.

Training, Procedures and Quality:



Ensure that all production training matrix's are fully robust and incorporate the training skills required to carry out the function. Ensure that manufacturing and Service Engineer's training documentation is fully fit for purpose and oversee function to a successful competition, whilst reviewing on a regular basis. Review and audit all documentation for WIP floor travellers, drawings, kits, materials to carry out the role are fully correct. Review incoming changes from FINC and how it may impact FTE and role out accordingly. Responsible for the management of the CAR's / NCR's register and conduct monthly meetings. Report on a monthly basis and summarise trend from CAR's and NCR's and oversee any Change requests required. To spot check each process within production, record and work with the production manager for any snagging, while raising a CAR / NCR for any other and investigate. To review all Sign off/PDI documentation and work with others for any changes required. Serve as process owner for our Engineering Change Management system. Conduct internal audits, carry out various supplier management activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Health and Safety:



Responsible for the decision making, implementation and integration of Health and Safety across the business, ensuring standards and requirements are met through inspections and audits, and coordinating employees to ensure actioning of all items in a timely manner. Responsible for Chairing of Joint Health and Safety Committee Meetings and coordinating employees to ensure actioning of items in a timely manner. Responsible for the creation and/or reviewing of all health and safety related documentation and ensuring regular review/monitoring. Working with the Production Manager to carry out or review H&S risk assessments for each production area and monitor risks and review. Working with the Facilities Manager on health and safety items related to the business premises. Ensure safe working practices are always adhered to. Reporting to Director of Operations on any shortcomings and feedback to Health and Safety Committee.

Specific Skills and Experience:



CQI experience and auditor qualification, i.e. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.

Quality management experience in a certified environment, i.e. ISO 9001.

NEBOSH or IOSH Safety qualification.

Six Sigma.

Competent with Microsoft Office, other databases.

Leadership skills.

First Aid Trained*

Fire Marshall trained*

COSHH Awareness trained*

Working Hours and Benefits



Working Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 4.45pm.
