PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Accountable for shift functions relating to quality, authenticity, food safety, legal and customer expectations. Manage processes to ensure that QA procedures and deviations are captured, reported and closed out during shift. To support production with RFT whilst maintaining QA schedules for audits in compliance with customers and accreditations.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Out of hours quality based decision making, including closing risk assessments, accountable for driving of close out of Food safety incidents, and suppoert with the site audit program.
Aid in out of hours crisis situations, containment and escallation.
Lead and coach Production Management team in policing the departments in terms procedures & policies to ensure RFT and support deviation completion.
Facilitate deviations relating to Food Safety and holds and proactively lead initiatives to drive standards and improve Food Safety & Quality throughout the company
To carry out all responsibilities and practices with the aim of producing food safely and to required internal & external specifications within a HACCP framework, i.e. taste panel, HACCP reviews.
Create detailed reports on issues that require escalating / circulating
SAP SME - Accountable all site QM functions - product release & blocking
Carry out audits in line with the internal auditing schedule.
Outer case label generation and amendments
Training, competency and monitoring of CCPs and compliance to HACCP, GMP, BRC and customer COPs.
Support monitoring of intake checks for high risk ingredients & retail labels Intake checks
Weekend/bank holiday registration and organisation of routine micro samples for the contract laboratory Ensuring compliance with customer & legal requirements
Support in traceability exercises and also investigations in customer complaints & retrieval of library samples.
Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager including cover for the rest of the team.
Some calibration of factory equipment & responsibility for equipment and environmental checks as required e.g. Temperature control / Pest inspections. Accountable for maintaining all relevant paperwork and system
Support in creation and review of production paperwork, startup checks, photo standards & QAS forms using document control
Champion current practices and ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, BRC, Customer COP & Quality System requirements, Accountable for proactively leading of food safety & quality initiatives throughout the company.
Support in traceability exercises and also investigations in customer complaints & retrieval of library samples
Participation in HACCP reviews
Set up of check weighers
To carry out all responsibilities and practices with the aim of producing food safely and to required internal & external specifications within a HACCP framework
Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager including cover for the rest of the team.
Desired Skills:
Considerable experience of the food industry, process knowledge, systems, procedures and operational excellence. Strong communication skills and must have the ability, aptitude and potential to progress to the next level within the organization. Ability to develop, lead & motivate others. Good planning & organisational skills, must be proactive with a 'can do' approach, able to make decisions under pressure. IT Skills: MS Office, SAP desirable.
