Following a 2 week rotating pattern

Week 1 06-14 Mon-Thurs 06-13 Fri

Week 2 14-22 Mon-Thurs 12-20 Fri

Job Purpose:



QA Technologists ensure company and customer quality standards are being met. Working alongside a QA supervisor and QA technician, they are responsible for Quality Assurance issues regarding raw materials, manufacture and packaging of the product produced. They must ensure that all reasonable precautions, with regards to 'due diligence' are taken, appropriate to the task in hand and that documented evidence supports this.

QA Technologists must be an example to the production environment on correct procedures being followed. To support compliance to official standards (CLAS, BRC, customer codes of practice & HACCP) are maintained at all times ensuring the site is audit ready.

Promote a continuous improvement environment with regards to GMP, customer standards compliance and customer complaint reduction.

Key Responsibilities:



1. To ensure that product 'on hold' is identified clearly and corrective procedure is followed with regard to the specific requirements of that item or product.

2. To ensure good communications are maintained within the organisation.

3. To perform accurately, analysis of the raw materials & certification, product, process, and packaging to determine its suitability for the purpose.

4. To ensure that systems and procedures are being followed to attain the Company's required product quality, safety, legality and authenticity from raw material preparation through to finished goods.

5. To ensure conformance to both product and process specification is achieved on a continuous basis through the maintenance of product and quality information sheets, and that non-compliance's are identified

6. To be involved in customer complaint investigation, helping to get to the root cause and preventative action.

7. Ensure the appropriate traceability systems are maintained and take part in challenges of the traceability system.

8. To liaise with production, warehousing, planning, and customer services to ensure product status is communicated.

9. To ensure the technicians on your shift are supported where necessary and appropriate.

10. To be familiar with all departments work instruction, procedures, and methods of analysis, particularly HPLC

11. To identify failures that do not meet the criteria specified and take suitable corrective action to reduce the risk of failure.

12. To provide an auditing function to ensure that all documentation is accurate and complete.

13. Stock-take of chemicals and equipment to ensure adequate supplies are maintained reporting low levels to QA supervisor.

14. Positive release of finished product through the lab analysis of aflatoxin through the HPLC.

15. Generations of certificates of analysis for customers where applicable.

16. Use of the environmental monitoring systems for logging and reviewing microbiological results.

17. To support with CCP audit training and team briefings where required.

Skills and Experience Required:



Essential:

Strong analytical and mathematics skills

Willingness to work in noisy environments

Excellent attention to detail

Good communication skills

Desirable:

Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment

Knowledge of QA systems

Food Safety & HACCP
