Primarily working in the PARTS SUPPLY department, but not limited to it, the QC Operator is responsible for performing dimensional control and quality assurance measurements and validation on parts and fabricated structures to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards. This role involves using precision measurement tools and equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining accurate records of inspection results.
Personnel Qualifications
The QCI must have the following capabilities.
Proven experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and equipment, such as FARO and EasyLaser equipment.
Strong understanding of technical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and the ability to interpret production requirements, tolerances, specification and design models.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and fabricated structures using tools such as callipers, micrometres, coordinate measuring machines (FARO), and other precision instruments.
Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine measurement requirements.
Record and document inspection results, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Identify and report any non-conformances or deviations from specifications to the Quality Manager.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions (CARs)
Maintain and calibrate measurement tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes and procedures.

Inspection and Testing: Conducting regular inspections and tests to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Non-Conformance Management: Identifying, documenting, and addressing any deviations from quality standards through corrective actions (CARs)
Quality Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
Compliance Assurance: Ensuring that products and processes comply with regulatory and industry standards.
Continuous Improvement: Providing feedback and recommendations for process improvements to enhance product quality.
Training and Support: Offering training and support to staff to ensure they understand and adhere to quality standards.
