An exciting vacancy with a bakery business has become available within our current technical team due to business growth and development.
THE ROLE
The key day to day responsibilities include:-
Helping to manage the site pest control contract and inspections, and close off non compliances
Perform spot checks on technical documents completed by the production staff, archive them, perform ATP, laboratory samples, taste panel, calibration checks.
Monitoring, maintaining and improving our high standards and help drive the food safety and quality culture, by engaging with other departments and report any deviancies from standard.
Conducting internal, GMP and housekeeping/hygiene audits to agreed schedules and identify follow up actions and timescales.
Assisting in training of all operatives in hygiene and QA/food safety procedures/issues.
Participating in wider strategic technical activity by being proactive with meticulous attention to detail emphasising a "right first time" approach.
Coaching and guiding production and engineering staff to ensure compliance to standards, helping with problem solving and resolving issues.
Supporting external audits.
THE CANDIDATE
Ideally with experience of working in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of the demands of the major retailers in relation to food safety, GMP and hygiene practices.
Good communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to write reports.
Proficient PC skills, with good excel skills.
Capable of proactive thinking, and both taking and delivering instructions/ guidance.
Investigate customer complaints timely and report the findings to the TA/TM.
Punctuality and flexibility are required to achieve the requirements of this role.
In this role you will work Tuesday to Saturday night Shift 10pm to 6am including a 30-minute break and with some flexibility. You may be required to adjust hours to cover absence on day shifts and cover a handover.
