KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Quality Technician samples and analyzes in-coming material, as well as in-process
and finished products to ensure conformance to company quality standards and
customer specifications.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
Conducts visual and analytical tests of raw materials, in-process, and finished
goods to ensure that materials being produced or consumed are within approved
specifications.
Utilizes analytical measuring and test equipment such an Instron, colorimeter,
calipers, etc. to determine acceptance or rejection of material or finished
products.
Maintains laboratory equipment and instrumentation in good working order.
Ensures that calibrations for laboratory equipment are up to date and calibration
records are maintained.
Interprets and works within the guideline of drawings, specifications, charts,
procedures, and other data to determine acceptance or rejection of materials or
finished products.
Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the analytical lab.
Assists in the review and disposition of non-conforming material, including
dispositions or rework, scrap and return to supplier.
Assists in the review, inspection and disposition of customer returned material or
products.
Assists in root cause analysis and corrective action reports.
Maintains accurate and current inspection and testing records such as Material
Certifications, Inspection/Test Results and Reports, Certificates of Conformance,
Rejection Reports/Tags, as required by the applicable procedure and
specification.
Coordinates and informs other departments of inspection and testing status in
support of production and project goals and initiatives.
Promote and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Participates in the construction and revision of SOPs.
Assists in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol, and
checklists.
Manages and maintains the retain sample program.
Position Qualifications
Experience
:
Minimum two (2) years' experience as a QC Technician is preferred.
Must be familiar with ERP systems.
General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Mechanical aptitude desired
Key Competencies & Skills
Position Qualifications Education:
GCSE or equivalent grade C or above in Math, English and one science subject. Experience:
Three years' experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
Experience of making label and foil type products using a wide variety of machinery including print, emboss, die-cutting and slitting to extremely tight tolerances and very demanding quality standards.
