Overview

We're looking for a dedicated Quality Control team member to join our harvest operation at WH Porter. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our soft fruit production, working directly with our field teams to ensure only premium quality strawberries reach our customers.

Responsibilities

Monitor harvested fruit and ensure only top-quality produce is sent to the packhouse? Maintain quality standards throughout the handling process Ensure fruit is handled with care to preserve freshness from field to cold store Prepare fields for the following day's picking Position trays, punnets, and pallets in designated locations Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Fruit Manager Manage post-harvest tidying (collecting waste, returning unused punnets and trays) Work closely with: Field Quality Control Team, Transport Drivers, Fruit Manager

Requirements

A practical, dependable individual who takes pride in their work Able to work effectively with all team members across the operation Capable of maintaining high standards in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment Agricultural students seeking valuable hands-on experience in the soft fruit industry.

Wages & Hours

Weekly pay, fully compliant with Scottish Agricultural Wage Board and National Minimum Wage legislation Variable start times depending on crop conditions and weather (typically between 05:00-07:15) Hours may vary seasonally

Pay: Up to 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 39 - 45 per week
