You will be working for a growing company who currently manufacture a variety of products to the fast food and catering industry. Their product portfolio is expanding and the intention is to supply their own brand products into major retailers throughout the UK and Overseas.
We require an experienced QC Supervisor / Manager with experience from a food background who can offer knowledge and encouragement to the team. This is a key role in the business and requires an excellent motivator and communicator at all levels.
The ideal candidate will be involved with BRC, HACCP and PIU Audits.
This role will effectively manage the day-to-day function of the quality side of the business ensuring appropriate due diligence is developed and effective monitoring and documentation is in place, the Food Safety and Quality Management System are maintained, appropriate paperwork is produced to enable clear traceability and due diligence and take immediate and appropriate action to address non-compliance issues. It is vital that the candidate is a driven and motivated individual who helps to drive the company forward in terms of Quality.
THE ROLE
The key day-to-day tasks of the Quality Coordinator/Manager include:
Ensure that only appropriately trained and competent staff complete the relevant line standards tasks.
Ensure that all production quality systems are being adhered to and raise issues and agree action with the Production Supervisor / Manager.
Ensure that the management team are aware of any potential product issues and actions.
Ensure visual product standards are current, accurate and are being adhered to at all times across all manufacturing areas.
Ensuring that the Final Inspection and Control and Correction staff are present for 100% of the production time.
Responsible for the ongoing coaching of production line standards staff to maintain high standard.
Ensure that all process control sheets are being completed accurately.
Responsible for ensuring material application is optimised to meet agreed product standards.
Communication of related customer complaints and identifying potential improvement action.
Manages the site Quality budgets and actively seeks out opportunities for cost reduction.
THE CANDIDATE
Key attributes of the Quality Line Standards Coordinator include:
Solid experience of working in a quality control role in food
Ideally possess supervisory experience
Chilled / frozen product experience desirable
Educated to a degree / HND level, holder of food safety / quality qualifications both highly beneficial
Ability to perform well under pressure with drive and ambition to succeed
Strong management skills
Strong IT skills
Formal Auditing Qualification either ISO lead auditor or OHSAS
Quality Assurance / Food Safety practitioner with a proven track record within a manufacturing environment
The role is based in Birmingham and is paying 30,000 depending on experience. The working hours will be a rotation of 6am - 2pm / 10am - 6pm / 12pm - 8pm.
