About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Quality Controller / Quality Auditor
to join our team on a
3-month fixed-term contract
. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in food manufacturing as well as
graduates in Food Science
or individuals looking for their
first opportunity in the food industry
.
This role offers
excellent exposure to BRCGS standards, hands-on quality assurance work, and involvement in various technical projects
.
This is an
on-site role
, requiring active participation on the production floor and close collaboration with the quality and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Auditing
Conduct routine quality checks and line audits.
Monitor CCPs, allergen controls, and food safety checks.
Carry out hygiene, GMP, glass & plastic, and internal audits.
Verify production paperwork, traceability records, and batch documentation.
Inspect raw materials, in-process items, and finished products.
Report non-conformances and assist with root cause analysis and CAPA.
Food Safety & Compliance
Support internal, customer, and third-party audit readiness.
Assist with environmental monitoring, swabbing, and micro sampling.
Escalate risks promptly to the Technical/Quality team.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete quality documents accurately and on time.
Maintain audit checklists, verification forms, and logs.
Assist with updating SOPs, forms, and procedures.
Provide daily updates to the Quality or Technical Manager.
Communication & Team Support
Collaborate closely with production, technical, and hygiene teams.
Support training on product specs, quality expectations, and GMP.
Communicate issues clearly and escalate when needed.
Requirements
Essential
Interest in quality, food safety, and the food production environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work weekends plus Monday-Wednesday.
Confident communicator comfortable working on the factory floor.
Desirable
Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
Previous experience in QA/QC or food manufacturing.
Qualifications
Proven experience in quality assurance or control within a manufacturing or food production environment.
Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately.
Knowledge of HACCP standards and their application in ensuring food safety.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in quality management or related fields are desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for proactive individuals committed to maintaining high standards of product quality, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring customer satisfaction through rigorous inspection practices.
