Quality Controller
Location: Teesside
Paisley Site Services are working with a leading manufacturer of high-quality commercial vehicle bodies.
Role Overview
The Quality Controller will be responsible for overseeing the quality of our commercial vehicle bodies throughout the production process. This includes monitoring and inspecting materials, in-process manufacturing, and finished products to ensure that they meet both internal standards and customer specifications.
The role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in quality control within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle bodies at various stages of production (raw materials, in-progress, and final product).
Standards Compliance: Ensure all products comply with company quality standards, customer specifications, and relevant industry regulations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and other relevant quality documentation.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and work with the production and engineering teams to implement solutions.
Audit Participation: Assist with internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance with ISO standards or other industry certifications.
Defect Resolution: Investigate product defects, recommend corrective actions, and track the implementation and effectiveness of those actions.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with production staff, engineers, and management to resolve quality issues and maintain high standards.
Customer Focus: Ensure that finished vehicle bodies meet customer specifications and are free from defects before delivery.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience as a Quality Controller, ideally within the commercial vehicle, automotive, or manufacturing industry.
Attention to Detail: Strong observational skills to detect defects, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with vehicle body manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
Problem Solving: Ability to investigate quality issues, analyse root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for creating reports and communicating with the production team and management.
IT Skills: Proficiency in using quality management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Certifications: Relevant experience with accreditations such as ISO 9001, or other quality management systems is a plus.
Working Hours
Full-time: 39 hours per week, with occasional overtime based on production needs.
