What are we doing?
As part of the quality team in Antrim, Northern Ireland we have a vacancy of Quality Engineer for our automotive pressure and temperature sensor businesses (TPMS, MEMS, Product Family\xe2\x80\xa6). Car manufacturers today are faced with increasing challenges with technology requirements continuously evolving and the demands for performance, safety, efficiency and clean emissions. What are you going to do?
In this position you will the quality lifecycle including New Product Development (NPD), Customer Warranty analysis and improvement. You will engage with our customers, our development team (Design, Process, Program Management, etc.), and our Operational team

You will lead aspects of quality, that drives rigor with the team to \xe2\x80\x9cget it right the first time\xe2\x80\x9d. You will ensure product success by comparing design and process against customer and Sensata requirements throughout NPD/CM process. You will work directly with our internal teams and the customer on issues acting as lead in the successful resolution and report out.

What are your tasks and responsibilities?

  • Managing all aspects of quality and continuous improvement across several new product developments and change management projects across various customer groups.
  • Managing all aspects of customer quality issues acting as lead in resolution, using 8D process . Analyzing and reporting of findings and actions both internally at our manufacturing site and with the customer site directly with the customer.
  • Fulfilling our customers\xe2\x80\x99 System quality requirements e.g. Advanced Product Quality Planning and manage the relationship with our Customers\xe2\x80\x99 Quality representatives.
  • Demonstrate full ownership of quality items in accordance with the Agile process by driving all relevant functions towards 100% robustness in meeting specifications/performance requirements.
  • Establish knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and drive for compliance with customer and Sensata requirements.
  • Establish knowledge of dFMEA/pFMEA/Control Plan Drawing and drive for compliance with customer and Sensata requirements.
  • Responsibilities include understanding customer quality requirements and expectations, and developing/driving actions to support those requirements.
  • Evaluates risk of new products i.e. evaluating inspection criteria, verify CTQs and ensure flown down of special characteristics.
  • Drive the customer approval process (PPAP,PSW, APQP), gain customer approval and update relevant customer portals.
  • Custer Specific Requirements ownership and understanding to ensure compliance throughout the project.
  • Support continuous improvement activities for cross functional initiatives.
What is your background?
  • Minimum Degree in Engineering (or similar).
  • Experience in a high-tech oriented manufacturing / development environment in (preferable) Quality positions.
  • Fluent English is a must; due to the working with and coordinating global cross functional teams.
  • Able to travel abroad to our offices/make sites around the world and to our customers in Europe.
