Job Description

The Quality Engineer will take responsibility for the development and implementation of Quality and Production Control Processes. The role will utilise effective business processes to safeguard our customers' requirement for world-class delivery of product, while facilitating a responsive approach. With a clear understanding of the business quality objectives you will take a hands on approach, employing a variety of tools and, above all, a positive and proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities



Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities throughout the organisation. Efforts should primarily be targeted at the identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing and inspection and management of quality costs. Compliance to certification for ISO9001, TS16949, AS9100 Rev D and supporting ISO14001 and ISO 45001 Investigate Quality related matters from Customers, in house production & Supply chain. Interface with manufacturing and design engineering when support is required to conduct root cause corrective action analysis for problem solving and process improvement. Document results of Quality investigations relating to Customer Complaints & Supplier non-conformance. Support yearly incoming audit plan. Conduct internal audits. Establish effective working relationships with customers Quality Personnel to enhance Polar Technology Management Group Ltds reputation as a high-quality, dependable supplier of products and services. Document corrective & preventive actions from Customer Complaints & Internal Process Investigations & Audits and management of resulting actions. Produce Investigation reports. Maintain and update process documentation. Produce a variety of quality related statistical reports. Conduct quality related training as necessary. Deal with day to day quality issues. Conduct quality based projects as required. Work with dept managers to ensure manuals and processes and procedures are fit, effective and communicated (overhaul where necessary). Liaise with certification body (ASACB) during Business Unit external audits

Person requirements:



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Demonstrates and promotes opened, welcoming, listening and accommodating other's input. Establishes processes to ensure that operational information is communicated effectively. Able to negotiate and mediate.

Qualifications, Training, Knowledge and Experience expected:



Degree, HNC or equivalent with engineering content. Relevant QA professional qualification beneficial. NADCAP experience highly desirable. Demonstrable years in quality focused roles in a mix of engineering projects and low volume mechanical engineering based activities. Awareness of Aerospace AS9100 and Automotive beneficial Good working knowledge of AQAP requirements Engineering process improvement skills (green belt or similar) * Internal audit - ideally to ISO9001, AS91001, ISO14001, TS16949 and ISO45001
