Become part of the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years! Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as an Quality Engineer - Internal Auditor on the Hinkley Point Project and develop with this amazing project.

About Hinkley Point C

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.

This role will be 10% site based, 80% SDC Offices in Bridgwater, 10% Remote.
What you'll be doing




Liaise with appropriate internal business functions to develop and
execute a comprehensive internal audit plan.

Schedule, plan and deliver internal audits in line with the annual audit
plan, taking full responsibility for individual assignments from planning

through to the issuing of audit reports.

Produce a comprehensive audit report on findings from each audit
highlighting trends and recommending improvements.

Contribute to the development of robust management assurance
processes.

Follow up on outstanding audit actions for implementation and closure.
Report outcome of Audit to Team Managers, Senior Management, and
appropriate stakeholders

Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and
solutions in collaborative way.

Agree recommendations with relevant staff members to make
improvements within MEH.

Assisting and supporting the Quality Team to achieve individual and team
objectives and defined performance indicators.

Management of stakeholders and their expectations through regular
communications.



Who we're looking for




Lead ISO 9001:2015 auditor certified
Qualifications in relevant discipline, HNC/HND/Degree (or equivalent
experience for role) preferred but not essential.

Qualified ISO14001 and ISO 45001 preferred but not essential.
Recent internal auditing (ideally one year).
Experience with internal auditing within a joint venture or alliance
environment

Knowledge of working to UK and international standards and codes of
practice for the UK Nuclear sector or other highly regulated industry

Can achieve security clearance (BPSS or higher).
Nuclear Safety Culture knowledge
