Quality Engineer

Full time, Day Shifts
07:30-16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30-12:30 Friday
\xc2\xa335,000 - \xc2\xa342,000 DOE

We are working with a leading machining and fabrication business based in Durham who have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team
  • Identify root cause and investigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise
  • Carry out product and process auditing
  • Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented and maintained
  • Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators
  • Stop production in the event of manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001)
  • Promoting and upholding company performance standards and policies.
  • Maintaining proactive, dynamic, and effective communication with customers.
  • Quality management, a pro-active approach to quality using data and Root Cause Analysis
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities
  • Quality control of work by appropriate reviews
  • Plan projects or sub tasks so they may be tracked and presented
  • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
  • Independently determine approach and assigned task
  • Supporting the Quality Inspectors with inspection activities.

Experience
  • Ideally educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in Mechanical Engineering
  • And/or relevant professional institute qualification
  • Possess a broad background in APQP processes / manufacturing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes ideally within fabrication and machining
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering & technical drawings
  • Have a working understanding of procurement & ERP
  • Work independently
  • Audit Trained
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001
