We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineering Manager for a well established engineering company in Poole, Dorset.

The business has a varied order book and the team rise to the challenge of producing parts for many sectors of the Engineering Industry. They have the ability to produce most small to medium size components with batch sizes from one to many hundred in a wide variety of materials.

They also have a forward-thinking environment where continuous investment powers opportunities to work on exciting new projects on a global scale.

Quality Aspects

• Managing quality control across the entire business, co-ordinate the work of the Inspectors ensuring daily/weekly/monthly targets are met.
• Managing QMS to be compliant with AS9100.Rev D.
• Publication of monthly Quality report to be presented to Managing Director.
• Take ownership on generating monthly KPI\'s (OTD,DPPM).
• Driving a quality culture throughout all areas of the business
• Working with and supporting the function of the Production Manager to ensure quality targets are being met, improved through RCA preventative and CI processes.
• Take the lead in root cause analysis (RCA) events to understand cause and prevent re-occurrence.
• Manage and perform Audits with Customers / Suppliers and regulatory bodies
• Quality representative for the Business when dealing with Customers and Suppliers

Technical Aspects

• NPI (new product introduction) working with planning to develop and maintain quality processes and job instruction.
• To investigate new tooling and methods (cost saving ideas on tooling)
• To draw up process sketches for the shopfloor
• Provide technical support to all departments

Person Specification

• Excellent organisational and planning skills are essential
• Good strong team player with the ability to influence others and lead a team
• Demonstrable experience in people management
• Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement and lean principles.
• Extensive experience working in a machine shop quality department.
• Apprenticeship trained would be desirable.
