Hours of Work: 39-hour week



Pay - 28-30k depending on experience

Job description



To provide effective day to day management of the microbiological and analytical laboratories, maintain product and plant hygiene microbiological standards, and assure overall product quality, compliance and on-going accreditation.

Key responsibilities/Duties

Monitor the sites strict microbiological requirements for finished product and plant hygiene and manage the release of finished product in accordance with internal procedures As an individual and working as a quality team member, support the production of finished drinks in a safe and compliant way to required quality standards. Challenge deviations from standards at every opportunity; contributing to a team culture of continuous improvement and unrelenting pursuit of excellence. Be able to plan, structure and organise work in order to set relevant objectives, KPIs prioritising critical tasks. Conduct internal audits on site to agreed schedule and communicate findings to all relevant managers. Update and maintain quality records to ensure the site is compliant with all relevant regulatory and third party standards.

Requirements



Educated to degree standard or equivalent in Food Science or Microbiology. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of food microbiology. Demonstrable experience of carrying out microbiological and analytical testing. Clear understanding of how to identify root cause of quality and food safety issues and work collaboratively to resolve them. Demonstrable experience of working with SOP's and implementing tight document control. Knowledge of a drinks manufacturing operation ideal. Experience of retailer quality standards / audits advantageous. Good attention to detail, organised and results oriented. Strong communication skills Self-driven, with a positive and proactive approach Curious, willing to challenge appropriately
