Quality in Design & Test Supervisor

to lead operations in a busy manufacturing and product design test laboratory.

About the Role

This is a hands-on supervisory role where you'll oversee laboratory operations, manage test schedules, and ensure all testing, quality control, and compliance processes run smoothly. You'll be at the heart of maintaining product quality, driving process improvements, and ensuring adherence to international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and develop test support staff. Manage laboratory operations, equipment, and test schedules. Implement and maintain quality control procedures. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (ISO, CE, UKCA, UL, etc.). Oversee testing, analyse results, and provide actionable insights. Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department. Collaborate closely with design engineers, production teams, and other stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, quality control, and standards. Proven supervisory/leadership experience in a test or QA lab environment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Confident communicator with strong organisational abilities. Familiarity with standards/directives (ISO, CE, UKCA, UL, etc.). HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field (desirable). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Smartsheets knowledge is a plus. Experience with CAD tools/PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Siemens Teamcenter) is beneficial

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
