Quality Engineer/Inspector
to become an integral part of our dynamic and supportive team.
As Quality Engineer / Inspector you will be responsible for the quality inspection of our precision machined components and assemblies, ensuring that they meet the standards required by the customer, and regulatory requirements in accordance with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards.
This is a hands-on role which will be responsible for the day-to-day component inspections and, for the quality inspections for all of our products relating to Aerospace, Medical, Motorsport, Rail and Defence industries.
MAY suit an experienced mechanical engineer (CNC) looking to progress on to a Quality role.
Main Duties:
Responsible for the hands-on quality inspections of precision machined components and assemblies to ensure they meet the required customer and regulatory requirements in accordance with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards.
Using the correct measuring equipment to check all aspects of part and fully finished goods meet required specifications
Carry out "in-process" inspections in all departments on the shop floor
Help to maintain and improve quality as part of the Quality team.
Help prevent any non-conformance's
Liaise with the Production team to develop and implement controls and improvements to reduce rework and reject levels.
Work collaboratively with the Quality team to identify and investigate non-conformances, lead root-cause analysis, and develop/implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous improvements, using 8D reporting where applicable.
Work with the Quality team to conduct Internal Audits from planning through to audit close out to ensure business processes are appropriate and robust
To apply for this position, you will ideally have a Quality Inspection or Engineering background gained within a precision manufacturing machine shop or engineering environment (CNC), supported by a relevant qualification such as HNC or HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Skills & Experience:
Proven track record as a Quality engineer / inspector, or, time served mechanical engineer, preferably within the Aerospace industry.
Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to operate & run coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
Good understanding of Precision Engineering techniques.
Experience of working in highly regulated Precision Machining / Quality Engineering role.
Experience in an ISO Accredited facility such as ISO 9001 / AS9100.
Lean manufacturing experience and other manufacturing quality tools such as SPC, Process Validation, Risk Analysis (FMEA), FAIR etc.
Ability to identify causes and problem solving.
Internal Audit Training.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) intermediate level.
39 Hours a week - Day shift - Monday to Friday
Hours - Monday to Friday (can be flexible)
Salary - 38,000 - 40,000 DOE
