Job Description

As a Quality Inspector at Westley Engineering, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and adherence to specifications in the pressings manufacturing process. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect and evaluate components for compliance with established quality standards, identifying and addressing any deviations from specifications. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing:

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of components throughout the production process. Utilize precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to ensure products meet specified tolerances and quality criteria. Perform functional tests on components to verify performance characteristics.

Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of inspection results, defects, and corrective actions taken. Generate and complete inspection reports and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with production personnel to address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions. Work closely with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on quality-related concerns and improvements.

Quality Standards:

Stay up-to-date with industry quality standards and ensure that products adhere to relevant specifications and regulations. Participate in the development and revision of quality control procedures and work instructions.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of quality enhancement initiatives. Provide input on root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for non-conformities.

Person Specification

Experience in understanding technical drawings, attention to detail, and good numeracy skills.

Experience using basic measuring equipment.

Salary: 13.50-15.00 per hour dependent on experience
