We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

How will you make a difference?
You will be working with the Quality team, taking a proactive approach to solving quality issues ensuring Goods in Inspection, Supplier FAI, and Customer FAI's are completed promptly, and reports are well maintained.
What will your typical day look like?
Measure engineering components to drawings and technical specifications.
Review supplier's paperwork to ensure parts meet specifications and create ISIR/FAI packs.
Raise Supplier Corrective Actions Reports (SCAR) via our internal Incident Management
Release product to production via the MRP system.
Quarantine non-conforming products.
Raising claims using the MRP system and coordinating the return of non-conforming products to suppliers via liaising with purchasing.
Stock check when required as part of containment action.
Random outgoing product inspection & report to Quality
Liaise with Customers/Suppliers regarding rejects or quality issues.
Maintain & improve 5S standard in Quality Quarantine area & Inspection area.
What do we want to know about you?
HND, or an Equivalent Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Proficient with using a multitude of test and precision measuring equipment, as well as manual hand tools such as torque wrenches, micrometer, Vernier caliper, etc.
IT literate and conversant with Microsoft Office (Excel& Word)
