Job Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-focused Inspector to join our Quality team supporting production of Aerospace and Formula One components. This role is critical in ensuring that all CNC-machined components meet required standards for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspectionson complex, tight-tolerance CNC-machined components within an AS9100 quality management system
Measurement of CNC machined components. Using equipment such as CMMs, laser scanning measurement systems, optical, form and surface finish testers, comparators, gauges, and other hand-held measuring equipment.
Record detailed inspection results, ensuring traceability and compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
Support rapid inspection feedback to machinists and engineers
Investigate and document non-conformances using root cause analysis (RCA
)
and participate in corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
Liaise directly with production, and customer quality representatives
Maintain cleanliness of all metrology equipment; raise any equipment-related issues promptly.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process capability studies and quality system enhancements.
Essential Skills
Demonstrable experience in a role within a CNC manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of measurement principles, hand held equipment, drawing standards and, GD&T.
Understanding of safe handling and work holding of complex CNC machined components with tight tolerances.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; zero-defect mindset.
Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, technically challenging, precision engineering environment.
Desirable Skills:
Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts to support customer deadlines.
Experience working under within AS9100D quality management systems.
CMM programming (PC-DMIS, Polyworks, and Mitutoyo)
Familiarity with FAIR and PPAP
Working Conditions:
Workshop/production floor environment.
May involve shift work or overtime depending on production schedules.
Use of PPE required.
