Quality Inspector (Nights)

Salary 30,000 to 34,000 + Shift Allowance
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business in Bolton as a Night Shift Quality Inspector, supporting a site committed to continuous improvement and zero-defect standards.
THE ROLE - Night Shift Quality Inspector
As part of the plant's night-shift quality team, you will be responsible for:

• Ensuring materials meet customer requirements following bending, fabrication, and heat-treatment processes
• Leading quality control activities during night operations, ensuring all products receive full dimensional inspection using manual inspection tools (verniers, calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Spending at least 50% of your time carrying out hands-on inspection
• Working closely with night production teams to investigate non-conformances and identify root causes
• Highlighting and escalating any out-of-spec products to production, engineering, and supply chain
• Updating and amending work instructions and SOPs to reflect process changes or improvements

THE PERSON
The ideal applicant will:

• Be an experienced Quality Inspector, confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Be fully competent in manual dimensional inspection using verniers, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Have good root cause analysis skills (8D/5 Whys desirable)
• Have experience updating documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, drawings, and QMS records
• Be a clear communicator who works effectively with production teams to maintain quality standards

Experience working nights or in a lone-working/low-supervision environment is beneficial, though not essential.
