Job Title: Quality Lab Technician (Night Shift)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 18:00 - 02:30 am

(Flexibility required for occasional cover 22:00 - 07:30 am)

Job Summary

Working within the busy process control lab, your objective is to ensure that high quality standards are met throughout the production process within the framework of the site's Food Safety Quality Management (FSQM) system.

Your Tasks

As Quality Lab Technician, you'll be providing operationally proactive Quality Assurance. Monitoring real time manufacturing product quality and technical procedures, interpreting the results and identifying opportunities for the site to make improvements.

Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting finished product sampling and testing (viscosity and sensory) in the main process control lab. You'll also be responsible for performing online checks for weights, packaging, seal integrity and metal detection. Additionally, your duties will include conducting accelerated shelf life testing, factory swabbing and testing water & effluent.

Skills we need

The ideal candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, have a flexible approach and meticulous attention to detail. You need to be efficient, capable of working independently and collaborate well within a team while functioning effectively under pressure. Additionally, the position requires competency in using computers for data entry.

This is a night shift position, but occasional flexibility is required in hours and days of work to meet business needs.

Experience in a similar role or within a food manufacturing facility is favourable. Knowledge or awareness of HACCP, the requirements of BRC, FSSC 22000 and Organic standards would be advantageous although not essential.

Starting rate 31,746.00 (12.21 per hour plus 1.25 shift allowance for all hours worked 18.00 to 06.00.)
