WHAT TO EXPECT

Join an energetic and driven team in achieving Jaguar Land Rover\'s vision to be the benchmark for quality in the luxury sector. In this role you will lead the resolution of powertrain system quality projects. This will involve defining the issue, investigating the root cause, identifying escape points, developing a containment and releasing a containment.

JLR has state of the art testing facilities, materials and metrology laboratories that you will leverage to resolve the issues you work on. The role also gives you the opportunity to work in multiple technical fields from electronics (fuel system control modules, level sensors and pressure sensing), mechatronic (fuel pumps, urea pumps, coolant pumps), sensing system (NOx sensors, PM sensors) and hydraulic systems.

Key Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Delivering the MBIS and stories to investigate an issue following DMAIC/ 8D problem solving methodology.
  • Definition or refinement of definition
  • Emergency response/ interim containment
  • Root cause and escape point investigation
  • Permanent containment development and verification
  • Permanent containment release
  • Confirm strategy for service/ request field service action
  • Responding to escalated dealer technical assists
  • Warranty analysis to support project prioritisation and field service action justification
  • Technical investigation support on critical concern (issues with a safety/ legislative implication)
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have a customer first mindset, an open communicator with the ability to convey and deliver complex operational ideas in a highly demanding environment. You will be able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Degree qualified (engineering/ technical)
  • Strong generalist mechanical engineer with some understanding of basic electronic components
  • 6? problem solving methodology.
  • Use of warranty systems/ analysis tools eg Analytical Warranty System AWS, IQM, Tableau, VFDb and CDS
  • Experience of cross functional co-ordination capability in Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and Quality
  • Understanding of data analytics, reliability and statistics
  • Ability to deliver presentations to working groups and senior management.
