An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Lead to join our QHSE Team, based at our Longport, Stoke-on-Trent depot. Our ideal candidate will have experience working within a rail safety critical environment, be hands-on with a focus on continuous improvement and able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the relevant industry responsibilities and standards.
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will take ownership of the business' quality management systems; acting as initial point of contact for all related issues, leading on internal and external audits, following up to ensure relevant corrective action is taken when needed and upskilling through training and coaching. The successful candidate will have a real opportunity to lead on the areas of responsibility, shaping and influencing the companies processes and performance.
This is a multisite role with the requirement to regularly visit our depots throughout the UK and Europe. This will involve overnight stays and occasional out of hours work as and when required. Due to the nature of the position a flexible approach to work will be required.
As the Quality Lead your role
will include:
Providing expert advice and support to staff at all levels of the business
Management of ISO 9001 standards across the organisation, with a focus on driving continuous improvement
Lead and co-ordinate the business' internal and external audit programme; including business-critical audits such as RISQS, ECM4, supplier and customer audits, ensuring any learnings and opportunities are communicated and actioned in a timely manner
Ensuring the effectiveness of the quality management system across the organisation
Lead and/or support with non-conformance, corrective actions, warranty claims or quality spill investigations
Ensure the business is kept up-to-date with any changes to relevant standards.
Design, implement and deliver quality related training to all levels of the business
Maintain the company's document control systems
Accurate production and reporting of metrics

Our ideal Quality Lead will be able to demonstrate:
Qualifications
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Knowledge and experience of RISQS, ECM4 and rail standards eg RSSB
Knowledge and experience of rail standards within the EU
Experience implementing lean methodologies, six sigma, 5S etc
Competencies/Experience
Demonstrable experience developing, communicating and embedding policies, systems and procedures
Experience training and coaching others, both in groups and 1-2-1, to develop knowledge and improve performance
Strong communicator, able to cultivate productive relationships across the organisation
Willing and able to be assertive when necessary, whilst maintaining effective working relationships
Naturally inquisitive with a focus on continuous improvement
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Excellent planning and co-ordination skills
Team player, able to influence others and demonstrate exceptional diplomacy skills
Self-starter, willing to take accountability for own areas of responsibility and work under own initiative
IT literate
You'll need to be a commutable distance to

and have valid right to work in the UK.
