The Role: Quality & Compliance Manager
We are seeking a Quality & Compliance Manager - in role you will report to the MD to lead the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of quality assurance and compliance across Casella. In this pivotal role, you'll own and maintain our quality certifications, ensure regulatory requirements are met, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that reinforce our reputation for excellence.

We currently have an external quality consultant who can remain in place for the short to mid-term and work concurrently with the new manager. Our engineering teams also have strong knowledge of the quality processes.

This is a highly cross-functional role, working with supply chain, production, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to embed quality practices into every part of the business. You'll be both a driver and an enabler, making sure we meet the highest standards while empowering teams to do their best work.

What You'll Do

Lead and maintain quality certifications including ISO9001, ISO14001, (ISO80079-34- can be learnt), and hazardous area product approvals Own and improve quality systems, documentation, audits, non-conformance tracking, and corrective actions Work cross-functionally to ensure quality objectives are met across the product lifecycle - from design through to production and aftersales Engage with suppliers to uphold quality expectations and lead improvement initiatives where required Oversee the use and analysis of quality data to identify trends and reduce warranty claims Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards in line with certifications and internal processes Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies, acting as the main point of contact for quality and compliance matters Deliver training and communication programs that embed quality awareness across all functions Support risk assessments, DFMEAs, and process improvements that raise standards and reduce issues Coordinate regular reviews of the Quality Management System and lead management reporting on compliance performance
What We're Looking For

ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification (CQI-IRCA or equivalent) Level 5 qualification or above in Quality Assurance Experience in quality roles, with at least some leadership responsibility In-depth understanding of manufacturing quality systems, compliance standards, and tools (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, DFMEA, etc.) Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills A proactive, structured, and collaborative approach to solving problems and improving performance
