We are seeking a knowledgeable and adaptable
Quality Manager
to join the team and lead the development and delivery of a fit-for-purpose Quality Management System (QMS) for the programme. This role is ideal for an experienced professional comfortable working in a complex, evolving environment and engaging with industry, commercial teams, and regulators.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality assurance approach for a multi-domain, multi-supplier programme through early engagement with industry and the definition of robust and compliant requirements.
The role is not suitable for inexperienced candidates. You will need a strong grasp of quality management in a defence context, and a readiness to contribute to a novel, dynamic programme.
Whilst our Head Office is based in Alton, Hampshire this role will be working on a hybrid basis in the
Bristol
area.
Key Responsibilities
------------------------
Design and develop the Quality Management System to support ITT activities, incorporating MOD-compliant process requirements that align with commercial supply chain practices.
Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from industry regarding quality during the ITN phase in collaboration with the Commercial Team.
Evaluate supplier quality responses, assess and score submissions to support commercial decision-making during the down-selection process.
Produce key documentation, including:
+ Iterative updates to the QMP.
+ Evaluation reports and scoring matrices for each tender.
+ Summary report of findings, recommendations, and industry Learning from Experience. Contribute to the development of quality-related content for the Systems Requirement Document for the ITT.
Provide insight into emerging best practices and novel approaches to supply chain quality management.
Essential Skills & Experience
----------------------------------
Proven experience in multi-domain quality management practices,
Demonstrated capability in requirements definition within a defence environment.
Familiarity with Commercial frameworks and procedures.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, including industry partners, commercial teams, and regulatory bodies.
Understanding of supply chain quality management
Experience with MOD requirements development, particularly within complex acquisition programmes.
