As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team on the Isle of Wight to ensure our service meets and maintains our established quality standards, ideallyfrom a mechanical manufacturing background, with proven experience of managing manufacturing quality systems and continuous improvement,
As Quality Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that all products meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal expectations. This role combines leadership, hands-on problem solving, and process improvement to drive a culture of "Right First Time" across planning, production, and inspection.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Quality Operations:
Oversee all quality assurance and control activities from contract review through final inspection.
QMS Ownership:
Maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System to ISO 9001 and other relevant standards
Non-Conformance Management:
Implement and manage a robust system for recording, investigating, and resolving all internal and external quality issues.
Documentation Discipline:
Ensure all process changes, inspection results, and quality events are documented and communicated with all stakeholders to prevent repeat issues.
Root Cause Analysis:
Lead investigations using Lean Principles such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa and 8D, to identify and eliminate causes of defects.
Collaborate with Engineering:
to produce and maintain APQP, FMEA, and FAIR/PPAP submissions.
Metrology and Inspection:
Program, operate and manage CMM, Keyence and other advanced measuring equipment. Ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained.
Communication and Collaboration:
Working with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to ensure quality standards are met.
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Hands on experience with measurement tools and techniques)
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong track record in quality leadership, ideally within CNC machining or precision engineering.
Good understanding of ISO9001 and ISO 14001, ideally with previous audit experience.
Desirable
Hands on knowledge of machining processes, materials and inspection methods.
Previous experience programming non-contact vision systems and CMM inspection equipment.
Experience using and managing internal and external calibration processes
