Zikodrive is an innovative and growing UK engineering company specialising in motor control electronics. We design, develop, and manufacture bespoke motor controller systems for a wide range of industries--from laboratory automation to precision industrial machinery.
As we scale, we're committed to delivering consistent quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. We're looking for someone who shares this commitment and wants to play a key role in shaping and owning our quality systems.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and Quality Manager to take responsibility for:
Maintaining and managing our ISO-9001 accreditation across the company.
Driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organisation
--from documentation to delivery.
Implementing, auditing, and developing quality processes
across engineering, production, and all other areas of the business.
Ensuring our systems
support both customer needs
and
regulatory compliance
efficiently and effectively.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in an SME environment and wants to make a direct and visible impact. Existing staff have implemented and attained ISO-9001 status for the last 4 years and can offer initial support. However, the core aim of the role is to fully take over and manage this system as soon as realistically possible.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and continuously improve the
ISO 9001:2015 QMS
, ensuring full compliance.
Lead
internal quality audits
and support external audits (certification or customer).
Review and improve
quality documentation
--SOPs, work instructions, calibration logs, etc.
Manage
non-conformance reports (NCRs)
, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Work closely with engineering, production, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Monitor and report on
KPIs related to quality performance
.
Develop and deliver
quality training and onboarding support
for staff.
Support document control, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters when needed.
Identify wider opportunities for improvement (for example in IT or facilities provision) and work with management team to cost and implement.
Progression
The role would begin with the candidate familiarising themselves with our current quality management system. This would develop into allowing them the freedom to develop the current system for the benefit of the company. It is anticipated that as the company grows, this person would eventually be managing their own team and potentially developing the department to lead us to gain other quality accreditations.
About You
Required:
Experience implementing, managing or coordinating
ISO 9001:2015 systems
and a developed understanding of what the standard involves and the core principles it focuses on.

Excellent communicator--able to work across departments and bring others along even where there may be some initial resistance.
Personable and able to strike up excellent rapport.
Self-starter with initiative, attention to detail, and a passion for quality.
If you have experience with a specific quality management standard from a particular industry, the role could be for you. However, we would emphasise that the requirement here is not prescriptive and will require someone with broader experience and outlook.
An abundance of motivation, enthusiasm and creativity to develop innovative, tailored solutions to any issues that arise.

Auditor training or lead auditor qualification (internal or external).
Experience with lean manufacturing (L6S) or continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5 Whys, FMEA).
