Position Overview



We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Quality & Materials Coordinator to support our engineering operations. This dual-function role will be responsible for maintaining quality standards across all workshop and refurbishment activities, while also managing inventory and material traceability. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, project managers, and suppliers to ensure that quality and material control procedures are implemented effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities



Quality Assurance & Control



Support implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (ISO 9001) Carry out inspection of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods Investigate and document non-conformances; support root cause analysis and corrective actions Assist in preparation for client and third-party audits Support continuous improvement initiatives across workshop operations

Materials & Inventory Management



Manage inventory levels for critical parts, consumables, and client-owned assets Oversee goods-in and goods-out processes, ensuring accuracy and traceability Coordinate with project managers on material requirements and availability Maintain stock records in digital systems with high accuracy Ensure correct storage, labelling, and documentation of all components and materials Manage obsolete equipment intake and assessment processes Liaise with suppliers for material specifications, delivery status, and certifications

Documentation & Reporting



Maintain accurate quality and inventory documentation with attention to detail Support generation of project-specific quality data and materials traceability records Assist with compliance reporting and operational KPIs Coordinate cross-functional communication on material and quality matters

Skills & Experience



Essential:

Previous experience in a quality control, quality assurance, or materials/inventory role Familiarity with engineering environments--mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic Strong understanding of traceability, inspection procedures, and stock control Excellent organisational and documentation skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration Basic understanding of subsea industry standards
Desirable:

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management Systems Experience with ERP or inventory management software Previous experience in energy / oil & gas sector Knowledge of subsea equipment and components Understanding of circular economy principles in engineering Experience with asset lifecycle management Forklift or overhead crane certification (training can be provided)
