Job Description

These roles are responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of Quality Inspectors and Quality Audit Technicians to ensure effective part inspection, product verification, and measurement control across all shifts.

(Rotational shifts - earlies, lates, nights)

There are 2 vacancies in the team and the key responsibilities include:

Team Supervision and Development



Supervise and motivate a team of Quality Inspectors and Quality Audit Technicians, ensuring that inspection activities are carried out in compliance with quality standards Manage workloads based on production schedules and priorities, manage the team's shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage is maintained Ensure the team are meeting the agreed KPI's and provide coaching/training to improve skills, ensure consistent performance and meet objectives Foster a learning environment where Inspectors can grow their experience and take on increasing levels of responsibility

Inspection & Measurement:



Ensure all Inspection processes are followed including checking moulds, assemblies, and painted products for defects or non-conformance using AQL standards Oversee the creation of first offs and validation of process setups, ensuring product quality is maintained throughout the production process Ensure the agreed number of Layered Audits are carried out by the team each week

Quality Standards & Compliance:



Ensure the team adheres to quality management systems, industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001), and customer-specific requirement Oversee the documentation of inspection results, and use data to report trends Collaborate with Quality, Production and Engineering to implement process improvements, reduce defects, and optimize the efficiency of inspection processes

Safety & Housekeeping:



Promote a strong safety culture within the team by ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices during inspections Ensure that the inspection area is kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations

Skills/experience required:



Supervisory experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team Knowledge of inspection tools, techniques, and processes (e.g., AQL, first-off approvals, measuring instruments, and inspection methodologies) Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and ensure deadlines are met * Ideal but not essential - knowledge of advanced quality tools, eg. FMEA, SPC, and MSA. Also, an understanding of quality standards, eg. IATF 16949, ISO 9001
