Dale Farm Cooperative is a UK dairy farmer co-operative owned by over 1200 dairy farmers who supply us with fresh milk. Quality & Technical Laboratory Assistant




The Role




As part of a dedicated central Laboratory team working within modern purpose-built facilities, you will assist in the preparation of media and the sterilisation process of laboratory glassware and equipment, with sample sorting and preparation of laboratory materials.





Key Responsibilities




Specifically, core role duties will include:

Conduct chemical testing Collate and trend data to identify issues Conduct Water testing Conduct Effluent Testing Daily Milk Testing Complete equipment calibration and minor technical repairs Maintain and develop all laboratory procedures Input results on LIM's system and communicate test results Control laboratory consumables Carry out product Taste Panels Preparing samples for micro testing at Group Technical Centre and External Laboratories Milk Standardisation Completion of Customer Certificates of Analysis Organising and maintaining shelf life samples Record Keeping




The Person







Essential



Minimum 1 year recent relevant experience in within a technical or production environment Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above to include English, Maths and a Science subject Proficient in MS Office applications An awareness of health, safety and hygiene practices in the workplace Ability to work independently and on own initiative as well as part of a team Excellent evidenced organisation and communication skills Excellent evidenced attention to detail and time management skills




Desirable



6 months experience in a Laboratory/Food Testing/Quality environment. Formal qualification in a food related subject Knowledge of accreditation systems (related to BS ISO 17025).
