Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Technician

Do you have the skills and experience we need?

To implement, train and drive standards across the business unit. The Quality Technician is the Quality department's permanent presence on the shop floor, providing real-time auditing of all products and manufacturing processes, to ensure that all operators are working in accordance with procedures and SOPs.

Specific Responsibilities



Perform patrol inspection, ensuring the conformance of products, process and personnel. Perform process confirmation checks to ensure that process controls are being completed, as required. Undertake layered process audits, on behalf of the quality department. Create and train quality alerts, following internal and external escapes. Support MRB process, providing product and process knowledge to help identify the failure mode and cause. Write and amend firewall inspection standard operating procedures. Train all firewall operators and maintain the firewall skills matrix Provide Quality approval to rework standard operating procedures, after considering the risks to the product. Provide toolbox talks to shop floor and firewall personnel, following changes to processes. Support engineering with the over-checking of parts, using manual inspection methods, to verify components. Act as the quality representative to sign-off, over-checked parts.

Supervision



Act as a supervisor to the Firewall team to ensure that all Firewall personnel are adhering to standard operating procedures and verifying the product correctly.

Skills and Attributes:



Developed knowledge of the products manufactured and processes performed. Use of manual measurement equipment Confidence to advise colleagues when processes are not being adhered to and standards are not being maintained. Confidence to halt production processes when it is considered that there is a risk to product and process. Willingness to be flexible within your job role, to learn new skills and to develop relationships, across many levels of the business, in order to ensure that quality standards become a natural part of BCW culture.

Qualifications/Experience Levels and Specific Role Requirements:



Education to level 2 standard / GCSE grade 4 preferred.

The role is a Rotating Shifts position 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
