Job Description

Quality Technicians are responsible for evaluating and inspecting supplier components and finished products to ensure they meet specification. With minimal supervision, a successful Quality Technician reports, records and documents all aspects of inspection findings and statistics.



Utilising strong technical knowledge and trouble-shooting skills, Quality Technicians determine the root cause of a problem rather than simply identifying symptoms. A successful Quality Technician is self-motivated and a natural trouble-shooter who is able to react quickly under pressure and prioritise and manage several tasks concurrently.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES



Facilitate and Execute Inspection -

To provide tollgate inspection cover inspecting valves to ensure the product meets specification rejecting any non-conformances. Within this the technician details the faults, highlights the issues and arranges the necessary product hold and checks with required root cause analysis and 8D approach to corrective actions. In addition to this the technician will also complete the following job requirements;

Product inspection support -

To support goods inward and in-process parts inspection. This will include the inspection of parts in reactions to NCR's and CQC's. Training on the use of inspection equipment and geometric tolerancing will be provided.

Quality and Production Audits -

To completeproduction line audits to verify compliance to established standards and processes including gauge, oil cleanliness, assembly tools, valve cleanliness and documentation. Ensure honing controls and gauges are in place and operational. Review and audit production documentation to make sure all documents are controlled and current.

Service Technician Support -

To visit European based customers (when required, as a back-up to the existing service Technician). This requires the person to be available to travel to local customers within the same day and further afield UK customers and European based customers within 24-48 hours. Communicate professionally with the customer keeping them informed of the changes and organising and arranging containment activities.

Able to work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced and high pressure atmosphere. Combines strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS





Vocational qualification in engineering or quality or equivalent education and experience. Previous inspection of precision components preferred (CMM measurement) Experience in a hydraulics or similar manufacturing environment with an ISO 9001 quality program, including mechanical testing and / or inspection, helpful. Able to demonstrate a practical mechanical aptitude Fully knowledgeable in geometric tolerancing/design and the use of standard inspection metrology equipment. Experience related to the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, fixturing, and tooling helpful. Understanding of the fundamentals of Quality Assurance. Exhibit good judgment, common sense, leadership and decision making skills and abilities. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple and varied tasks that contribute directly to the effectiveness and quality of the company and all employees. Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other functional areas as follows: Operations, Design Engineering, Purchasing and Inventory Control, Scheduling, and Shipping/Receiving. Effective trouble shooting, problem solving and organisational skills. Able to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, work staggered shifts and handle conflict in an effective manner. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Accurate typing/computer data entry with above average attention to detail. Must hold a valid driving license and passport in order to travel to customer / supplier sites * Willing and able to travel internationally.
