Job Description

The Analytics Research team is responsible for a range of solutions that provide transparency into financial markets and enable institutional investors to build better portfolios. Our solutions include fixed income and multi-asset class factor models, fixed income and derivative pricing models, risk simulations, performance attribution, liquidity, and regulatory solutions.
The team works closely with investment practitioners across the industry, including asset managers, hedge funds, banks, and asset owners. In addition, the team works closely with product management to define the vision and strategy for the analytics business.

  • Develop a thorough conceptual and practical understanding of the most important investment problems facing our client base
  • Leverage this understanding to address investment problems using the models, data and solutions provided by MSCI
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by conducting and publishing applied research on relevant and timely market developments, with a special focus on risk management and scenario analysis
  • Collaborate closely with research colleagues and other stakeholders across the organization
  • Engage with clients in an advisory capacity; identify and support new commercial opportunities
  • The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual with strong quantitative and problem-solving skills as well as a deep interest in building solutions for investment problems
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field
  • Strong interest and understanding of global financial markets and economics, with the ability to follow and identify key investment themes and use cases
  • Meticulous attention to detail, along with the ability to effectively communicate with and influence senior non-technical stakeholders. Excellent written and presentation skills in English
  • Willingness to work with Python and proprietary systems to carry out research.
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
