As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our team at our Elsenham head office. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and operationally complex projects in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role: Quantity Surveyor



Reporting to the Aviation and Construction Directors, the Quantity Surveyor will manage the commercial and contractual elements of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with the Project Manager and delivery team to ensure cost-effective delivery and strong financial performance across all assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare and price tender documentation, budgets, BoQs, and cost forecasts. Attend pre-tender meetings and advise on material and cost requirements. Track project budgets and provide ongoing cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Procure subcontractors and suppliers, manage contracts and valuations. Measure and value completed works, certify payments, and handle variations. Maintain accurate and timely cost reporting including monthly CVR updates. Liaise with clients, engineers, and site teams to ensure clear communication of commercial matters. Support the reporting and documentation of changes and variations. Ensure all commercial processes align with company procedures and compliance standards.

About You



You are commercially astute, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a busy project-led environment. You can work independently or collaboratively and bring a detail-oriented and proactive approach to cost management.

Essential Skills & Experience



10+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or Estimating role (Construction industry). Experience working across a variety of project types (aviation, healthcare, education etc.). Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract. Proficient in cost forecasting, subcontract management, and financial reporting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation. Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Self-motivated with a professional and team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications



Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related technical discipline. Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIOB (desirable).
