We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects are meticulously controlled throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of cost management and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Duties
Prepare and maintain accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all financial aspects are accounted for.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing effective cost control measures to prevent overspending.
Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment on project specifications and costs.
Prepare tender documents and manage the bidding process to secure competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
Provide regular reports on financial performance, highlighting any discrepancies or potential issues related to cost management.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers to ensure favourable terms for the company.
Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify that work is being completed in accordance with budgetary constraints.
Skills
Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices within the construction industry.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools for accurate cost estimation and reporting.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
