Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time and within budget. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates and maintaining financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective. Monitor project budgets and expenses, implementing cost control measures as necessary. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate project specifications and requirements. Prepare tender documents and assist in the selection of contractors through competitive bidding processes. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations. Provide financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders, highlighting any potential issues or risks. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible terms for the company.

Requirements

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with various stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant software applications for cost estimation and project management. A solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with cost control practices is an advantage but not mandatory.
