A number of years' experience in managing all costs and income associated within their area of responsibility. May be managing less experienced commercial staff
and will be supporting other more senior members in delivering the varied commercial duties as well as being responsible for procuring and managing our
supply chain. Actively seek to manage costs and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality for our customers. They will be involved in various elements of the Expansion of an Existing Substantial Building (PCO Expansion Task Order) on the Rolls Royce Non-Fissile Programme of works.
Typically, a QS will be chartered or in the final stages of achieving professional membership of the RICS, ICES or CIOB and will be a peer role model for those less
experienced members of the commercial team. They will maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
What you'll be doing
Governance
Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's governance requirements (BMS & GMCEs)
Commercial Management and Administration
Use the company's ERP and Digital Systems
Orders information and systematically checks data
Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures
Preparation of Cost reconciliation statements
Measure & interpret works information, specifications & drawings and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates.
Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates
Measurement of works and agreements with subcontractors
Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates with subcontractors
Plan commercial activities to meet requirements
Collation of Cost and Value Information
Have an understanding of delay and disruption programmes
Customer/Change Management
Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management
Analyses rates & prices for the agreement of compensation events as required
Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
Procurement
Collect information required to specify procurement requirements
Record and document information including registration of interest
Understand the steps / documentation required
Manage and Adjudicate Subcontract Enquiries
Development, Recruitment and Retention
Maintains own Personal Development Plan
Who we're looking for
BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards them
Experience working on NEC Contracts.
SC Security clearance preferable, minimum of BPSS.
Experience working on Build projects.
Utilisation of Commercial Administration Software.
