We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously planned and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and verify that work is being completed as per specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to provide financial advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities.
Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate contracts to achieve the best value for the company.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Assist in resolving any disputes or discrepancies related to costs or contracts.
Requirements
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A valid driving licence may be required for site visits.
