About the Role





As a Quantity Surveyor, you will:


Manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, supporting senior commercial team members. Procure and manage our supply and sub-contract chain, actively seeking to minimise costs and enhance value for money, while maintaining high standards and quality for our customers. Be proficient in creating valuations, applications, and raising invoices for payment. Demonstrate strong knowledge of risk analysis and reduction. Serve as a role model for less experienced team members, typically being chartered or working towards professional membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB.


What you'll be doing



Adhere to company governance and commercial procedures. Measure, record, and value work unsupervised, finding cost savings and value engineering opportunities. Build up estimates from first principles and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Rates. Plan commercial activities to meet programme requirements and understand delay/disruption programmes. Use the company's ERP system for cost and value information, and prepare cost reconciliation statements. Collect and document procurement requirements, and manage agreements with subcontractors. Undertake customer and stakeholder management within your area of responsibility. Create and manage CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations). Support the development of others and maintain your own professional development plan.


Who we're looking for

Essential:




BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.

Desirable:


Excellent communication skills, able to present in workshops and provide in-house commercial training. Strong teamwork abilities, able to lead and participate in teams. Achievement-focused, increasing productivity through cost management and lean practices. Previous commercial work experience, with good knowledge of term maintenance contracts, NEC and ICC contracts. Solid industry knowledge.
