Aviation / Airfield Maintenance \xc2\xa6 Civil Engineering

Location \xe2\x80\x93 Manchester

An outstanding opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join the AmcoGiffen Aviation business unit-supporting a rapidly growing portfolio of Airfield maintenance projects throughout the UK. The role is to support the current commercial team at Manchester Airport and lead the commercial function for other projects throughout the Aviation Business

Business Unit

A busy and fast paced rail civils asset maintenance/management (CAM) framework environment. The business unit consists of \xe2\x80\x98small\xe2\x80\x99 maintenance projects both reactive and planned around the rail network.

They are responsible for the maintenance and repair of rail assets in a long term framework / contract agreement with works typically ranging in type, scale and value.

Projects can typically include repair and maintenance to bridges, tunnels, structures, stations, embankments, flood and weather damage, signage, de-vegetation, fencing, handrails etc.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working within the Aviation project Delivery team contributing to the profitable performance of the business unit, through the successful commercial and financial management of works, including day to day duties such as:

  • Working with the commercial team and supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.
  • Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,
  • Resolving pricing issues with clients
  • Client Liaison
  • Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,
  • Subcontractor management
  • Change management and early warnings
  • Contract administration (NEC/NR forms of contract)
  • CVR\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Final accounting.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment. Some experience working on aviation projects or maintenance would be beneficial but is not essential for the position.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (HNC/HND/Degree)
  • Civil Engineering project experience
  • Contractual experience with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract)
