Quantity Surveyor

This role presents an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor who can work on a number of exciting projects in Manchester. There will be a focus on professional work on a wide variety of selected projects, sectors and value to allow for a diverse opportunity including:
BTR and Residential new build projects
Hotel new build projects
Student Accommodation new build projects
Re-cladding projects
Draft and support to produce specifications and briefs for clients
The role of a Quantity Surveyor includes the following responsibilities:
Provide cost management services through pre and post contract process
To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
Assist and drive forward the preparation of cost plans; including measurement
Support with Value engineering studies and analysis
Work with senior members of staff to gather market testing data of key elements for the developments
Support and assist the data analysis on design efficiencies, benchmark comparison
Prepare and assist with the preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluations, contract documentations and reports
Prepare and assist with the scrutinising and verifying applications for interim payments
Prepare and assist with the management of change control in accordance with contracts
Prepare and assist with the production of cost reports and cost forecasting
Advising and liaising with internal project and cost control team
Key Attributes:
Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
Working towards Chartered status
Ideally a minimum of 2 years' experience of working in construction industry
Previously employed by a consultancy or end user client
Likeable and warm personality which will fit in and become an integral part of the team
A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
